Is Drunkenness a Sin in Catholicism?

I'm of the Roman Catholic faith, and I was just wondering whether or not it's considered a sin within the religion to get drunk. Seeing as most of us are Irish, I'm guessing it's not exactly frowned upon, but I'd like to know for sure.
