Grammatical word for words that link sentences.?

This is irritating me and I must know the answer as I have forgotten. What is the grammatical expression for words such as OF used to link sentences together. “Picture OF a painting…” It wouldn’t be linking verb, would it be? It’s not exactly an action, though it is linking two parts of the sentence. Please help refresh me.
