What does the statement "and there was evening, and there was morning mean to/set forth for you in thoughts?

It is stated six [6] times in Genesis chapter 1. In my view, I see the light going from bright to dim and the light going from dim to bright. I do not see day divisions as mankind normally sees days and 24 hour periods. Likewise I do not see a time factor. Instead I see sequences and ideas with thoughts in the mind of My God as He puts in words His plans ands purposes for all to see.
